Adwatch: Nokia Lumia 800 battles an iPhone 3GS to find a nearby deal
Nokia shows off the tile-based system featured on its Lumia 800 smart phone in this ad by hiring magician Marco Tempest to pit it against a member of the public’s iPhone 3GS.
The idea behind the advert, which sees how fast the two phones can find a nearby deal, is that Windows Phone apps can deliver live information to the start screen’s tiles themselves, meaning that the phone’s user doesn’t have to delve into the app itself to see the information, saving time.
Will the ad work in drawing people away from similarly priced Apple handsets? If a slick, fresh and innovative user interface is what a buyer is after above all else on their next smart phone, then they just might opt for Nokia’s offering.
