Imagine the scene: you’re an up-and-coming electro-pop duo trying to make your mark on the music industry when suddenly the world’s biggest mobile phone manufacturer asks you to star in their new ad. That’s an offer you couldn’t turn down, right?

Unless you hate exposure and enjoy being ‘underground’ (or something), the answer is obviously in the affirmative. London-hailing beatcrafters Man Like Me, who can be seen in this ad doodling all over their tablet-slash-smart-phone Samsung Galaxy Note device, think so too.

For three and a half minutes they chat about working side jobs in cinemas to fund their record, what they listened to growing up and how fear drives them to, like, totally rip it up on stage. Even their producer — a lethargic and unshaven Mike Skinner who looks like he’s just woken up from going into hibernation after Computers and Blues and Cyberspace and Reds was released — even takes a few moments to state how special the record is shaping up to be.

While the ad doesn’t really point out any ways that owning a Galaxy Note handset would benefit recording artists other than the ability to scribble over its large screen, it does a decent job of making the mobile maker’s stylus-friendly device come across quite ‘hip’, which is probably all it cared about doing anyway.
